Botswana: DCI +0.18%, USD 42.k

The market remains quiet.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.60%, USD 6.8m

The market recouped its previous days losses on the back of improved foreign demand (Foreign buys accounted for 66.1% of trades). The main movers of the day included KCB (+0.8%, KES62.50), EABL (+0.3%, KES321) and Safaricom (+0.6%, KES17.40). Equity Bank shed 0.5% despite positive Q1-15 results (10.7% increase in net profits). Other notable losers included Centum (-0.8%, KES63.50) and Uchumi (-3.8%, KES10.10).

Mauritius: Semdex +0.13%, USD 1.33m

The index recovered well to end the week in the green. Total turnover was mainly geared towards SBM - accounted for 61.7% of total turnover. The counter traded a total of 31m shares to close unchanged at Rs0.94 on the back of sustained investor demand whilst MCBG closed up 0.5% at Rs201.25 after trading a paltry 5k shares.

Nigeria: ASI +1.93%, USD 18.8m

The market recovered well after three straight days of losses. The Banking index closed up by 1.12% due to gains in GTB (+1.59%, N28.75), UBA (+3.52%, N5.29) and Zenith Bank (+1.20%, N21.15). The Consumer index also recouped its previous losses, gaining 2.00% on the back of gains in Guinness (+3.66%, N170) and NB (+3.86%, N157.01). A string of companies released Q1-15 results; among them were ETI, Dangote Cement, Lafarge and Transcorp.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.09%, USD 206k

Most counters closed the day unchanged. Top movers included Delta (unch, 105c), Econet (unch, 49c), Innscor (unch, 59c) and Old Mutual (unch, 251c).
