Botswana: DCI -0.02%, USD 1.1m

There was finally some action in Gaborone today thanks to Letlole ($912k) being the lion’s share of the market and Choppies ($170), ending the week with some decent volume.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.9%, USD 11.1m

Turnover was up 27% from the previous day, with EQBNK (30%), EABL (26%) and SAFCOM (16%) the most active names on the day. Foreign participation on the day was up to 56%.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.12%, USD 1.16m

A good way to end the week in Port Louis today seeing MCBG (-0.5%, Rs272.00) once again leading the way with a cross of 27k shares and total volume in the stock amounting to 37.9k. SBMH (-1.0%, Rs7.71) didn’t have the best days after starting the week off on a high. IBL (+3.0%, 50.17) continued to climb and ended the week on an all time high of 7.6k shares traded.

Nigeria: ASI -1.02%, USD 25.8m

The bullish momentum finally came to a halt after a 17-day run. The banks managed to close positive with Guaranty (+0.24%) and Zenith (+0.74%) closing at 41.10 and 25.99 respectively. FBNH closed lower as it traded about 97m shares. Better than expected numbers in Nestle (+5%) helped the consumers (+1.14%) close higher.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.42%, USD 1.2m

Not a bad end to the week in Harare with volumes headlined by Delta (127.25c, $289k), Innscor (72.75c, $218k) and Econet (39.50c, $348k) the rest of the market was extremely quiet.
