An absolutely dire day in Gaborone as turnover amounted to a paltry 4k.
A solid enough day from an activity point of view to close off the week with total value traded amounting to $10.3m as locals dominated proceedins, it should however be noted that foreigners (63%) dominated total purchases. There was some pressure on Safcom as the telco fell -0.7% due to local selling as 12.06m shares traded. EQBNK (+0.5%) continued to bounce with foreigners (86%) driving the name higher. There was some profit taking in KNCB (-0.9%) as 1.97m shares traded in the name.
Activity continues to impress in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $2.67m thanks once again to market heavyweights SBMH (38.54m shares) and MCBG (149k shares) while the rest of the market was rather quiet.
NB ($8.94m) finally knocked Zenith off the top of the list from an activity point of view as 9.31m shares traded in the brewer with total value traded amounting to $35.7m. There was also some decent action in WAPCO ($6.3m), Zenith ($2.97m), UBA ($2.84m) and Unilever ($2.11m). There was some profit taking in banks as the sector fell -0.89% thanks to FBNH (-4.33%), ETI (-2.78%) and Zenith (-1.82%). Consumers (-0.74%) closed lower with some profit taking in Nestle (-4.97%) while Dangote Sugar (+5.61%) and Cadbury (+3.35%) closed higher.

A rather sluggish end to the week in Harare as turnover amounted to $854k with some activity in Innscor ($362k) and Old Mutual ($183k) the only names worth mentioning. The market closed lower with the Industrial Index falling -0.53%.
