The big mover of the day was Letshego, trading 3.8m shares in total to close at 248t. The rest of the counters were dead .
Activity picked up steadily throughout the week in Nairobi as foreign participation slowly returns. Today was no different and foreign buying drove both volumes and market direction. The most active names were KNCB (unch, KES58.50) and Safcom (+40bps, KES14.15) which both saw high foreign activity on both sides. There was also some chunky trading on the normally quiet names Centum (-1.6%, KES62.00) and BATK (unch, KES900). Equity Bank and EABL were both quiet.
Foreigners accounted for 58% of total turnover in NMH, with the counter trading 240k shares to close at a high of Rs72.00. The banking stocks however ,took first prize, as they accounted for 78% of total Market turnover. MCGB Closed at Rs198.01 , trading 65k shares, while SBM closed flat at Rs1.01 trading a bulky 27,3m shares.
The Lagos market started off quietly yet again yet some crosses throughout the day once again helped volumes to a reasonable level. Banks shed 1.27% for the session with all names in the sector closing in the red. The bulk of the action took place in Zenith (-99bps, N16.01), GTB (-1.86%, N20.03) and FBNH (-2.61%, N7.09). Consumers ended the session marginally in the green although outside of some chunky crosses in NB (-13bps, N142.02) and Guinness (-5bps, N129.99) the sector was extremely quiet.

The market was extremely quiet today, as turnover amounted to a mere 90k. Ok Zim, Delta and Seedco , the most active stocks in the market, all closed flat on the back of 1,405, 17000 and 5,342 shares respectively.
