Nothing to report from Gaborone.
A rather woeful day from an activity point of view in Nairobi with most of the focus on EQBNK and EABL as 3.1m shares and 211k shares changed hands in the names respectively. Elsewhere, all of the other market heavyweights were dead quiet unfortunately. EABL released FY 2016 results with the brewer closing +1.75% higher on the day.
We saw MCBG (unch. Rs207.50) once again dominate the volumes chart in Port Louis. SBMH continues to creep higher as it closed the week at Rs0.69.
A better day in Lagos, but still nothing to write home about as crosses in the likes of Zenith ($2.9m), Nestle ($2.2m) and DangCem ($2.1m) dominated proceedings. Banking stocks had a solid day from a performance point of view with the sector closing +1.64% higher thanks to Zenith (+3.68%) and GTB (+2.34%). Consumers closed slightly lower with the sector falling -0.74%. Nestle released H1 results with the name closing unchanged on the day.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A quiet end to the week in Zimbabwe with nothing very exciting to write home about.
