A below average start to the week in Gaborone with some small activity in Sefalana as 67k shares traded amounting to half the market.
Turnover was down 31% from the previous trading day, with SAFCOM accounting for 41% of turnover. Major gainers on the day were SCAN (+8%), UMME (+7.6%) and CRBG (+5.6%). Foreign participation on the day was 54%.
A dull start to the week in Mauritius with a low market turnover being driven by MCBG (-1.1%. Rs269) and SBM (-0.5%, Rs7.66).
The market continued from where it left off on Friday to close 2.76% lower. All indices bar the Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors closed lower, with the Industrials leading the pack (-4.69%) on the back of Dangcem and Wapco (both down 5%). Guaranty and Zenith were also down 5% on the day, bringing the Banks 3.8% lower.

Harare bourse kicked off the week with locals once again dominating trading activity. Block trades in Axia and CBZ closed the month on a decent note. Major gainers of the day were Simbisa (11.11%), Econet (2.09%) and Axia (4.17%).
