A decent day to end the month in Botswana as we saw some mild activity in the likes of Letshego (255t), Turnstar (201t) and FNBB (358t).
As has been the case for the whole month the local investment community dominated the day in Nairobi although some foreign buying pushed the NSE 20 up by almost 1%. Foreign buying in Safcom pushed the telco 1.6% higher to KES 12.95 while foreign buying in KNCB pushed the bank up by 90bps to KES 57.50. There was also a cross in Bamburi (local seller, foreign buyer) while the other large cap names like Equity Bank and EABL has rather muted sessions..
Activity was spread across the board today in Port Louis. The Sem-7 slid by 14bps with weakness in MCBG (-12bps, Rs208.75), NMH (-57bps, Rs87.00) and Terra (-1.08%, Rs36.50). the only riser was Alteo which gained 28bps to Rs35.70.
A very active day to end the month in Lagos although the week itself was extremely quiet. Banks were strong for the second day running (+42bps) with Tier 1 names yet again pretty strong. Leading the pack were FBNH (+3.80%, N15.04) and ETI (+3.05%, N16.90) while there was chunky activity in the likes of GTB, ETI, Zenith and Access. Consumers gained a solid 41bps with most of this thanks to NB (+1.14%, N177). NB also saw a very chunky trade at N179 towards the close of the session. There was also a chunky cross in Unilever at N49. Oando closed up 4.97% at N27.45 on decent volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some action in Innscor at 76c about the only action on yet another quiet day in Harare. The large caps outside of Innscor were dead with Delta (135c) and Econet (76.10c) both extremely quiet.
