A very solid day from an activity point of view to end the week in Gaborone thanks to a cross in BIHL as 1.3m shares changed hands in the name. There was also some activity in FNBB as 1.9m shares traded.
An active day to end the week in Nairobi with foreigners dominating both purchases and sales. Both major banking stockes were the drivers behind turnover with KNCB closng the day unchanged on 5.9m shares while EQBNK closed the day +0.6% higher on 5.1m shares. A decent amount of activity in Safcom as 12.9m shares traded with the telco closing the day flat. A relatively average day in EABL in terms of activity as 465k shares traded in the brewer.
A rather dull day in Port Louis to end the week with no real action worth noting as small volumes went through in all the market heavyweights.
Some activity in in GTB ($3.6m) and Zenith ($2.1m) the only names worth mentioning on another rather uneventful day in Lagos. Another weak day for banking stocks as the sector fell -0.73% with pressure on Access (-4.59%), ETI (-4.33%) and GTB (-4.16%). A late rally in NB (+5.00%) drove consumers +1.96% higher while there was also some strength in Unilever (+4.99%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better day in Harare thanks to some action in Innscor ($805k) while the rest of the market was quiet.
