Movers & Shakers: April 03, 2017

Botswana: DCI +0.02%, USD 722k

A decent start to the week in Ganorone, relatively speaking, thanks to Letshego as 2.3m shares changed hands.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.20%, USD 2.8m

Another very quiet day in Nairobi as the market just never got going. As always the turnover was heavily dominated by Safcom which accounted for more than 70% of the total market turnover. The stock rose by 2.5% to KES18.45 while the rest of the market was practically dead.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.13%, USD 600k

Some small activity in MCBG as 27k shares changed hands in the name, about the only action worth noting on a quiet start to the week in Port Louis.

Nigeria: ASI -0.95%, USD 2.2m

It seems like every day plumbs new depths in terms of the lack of interest on the NSE, and today was no different with barely $2m trading for the entire day. The lack of interest dragged both the Banks (-6bps) and Consumers (-73bps) lower. There were no large trades to talk about.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.09%, USD 2.3m

A very solid start to the week from an activity point of view thanks to a cross in Delta ($1.9m), while the rest of the market was quiet.
