Movers & Shakers: April 06, 2017

Botswana: DCI +0.15%, USD 68k

Nothing to report from Gaborone

Kenya: NSE 20 +1.00%, USD 6.8m

Local investors dominated the market today and were especially prevalent in KNCB which accounted for a little under 70% of the total market turnover. The banking group closed unchanged at KES33.75 while EqBnk inched higher to KES34.25 albeit on tiny volumes. Safcom was much quieter than usual and also tip-toed higher to KES18.50.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.15%, USD 450k

A rather uneventful day in Port Louis with no action worth reporting on.

Nigeria: ASI +1.11%, USD 4.8m

Another dull and uninspiring day in Nigeria although we did see both the banks (+54bps) and consumers (+36bps) gaining ground. However, as has been the case for what seems like forever now, there was no exciting crosses to write home about.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.06%, USD 48k

Nothing to report from Zim.
