Botswana: DCI unch, USD 2.9m

Another active day on the bourse as turnover amounted to $2.9m. Letshego was the significant contributor as the counter traded a total of 7.6m shares at 350t. Other movers included FNBB and Sefalana.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.59%, USD 13.7m

The bourse remains sluggish with the index shedding 59bps. Foreigners were net sellers in KCB, Safaricom and Diamond bank as the counters shed 3.3%, 1.5% and 0.4% respectively. Equity bank closed up 1.6% on the back of sustained foreign demand.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.33%, USD 7.1m

Foreigners were the dominant participants in MCB and SBM- they were net sellers. The banking names remained unchanged at Rs203 and Rs0.93 after trading a total of 526k and 20.9m Shares respectively.

Nigeria: ASI -0.66%, USD 16.6m

There was no deviation from the recent trend as the market remains bearish. The Banking and Consumers indices ended the day in the red due to losses in ETI (-9.71%, N21.01) and FBNH (-2.79%, N8.70) banking sector shed 1.08% and NB (-2.15%, N153.53) and Flourmills (-3.92%, N35.50) consumer sector shed 0.87%. Top contributors included GTB ($1.1m) and UBA ($8.1m) with the names closing up by 0.31% (N29.12) and 1.58% (N5.13) respectively.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.12%, USD 411k

Trades in Delta, Econet and ZPI dominated proceedings. The counters traded 130k, 75k and 18m shares at 105c, 46c and 1.10c respectively.
