Movers & Shakers: August 09, 2016

Botswana: DCI -0.19%, USD 46k

Nothing to report from Botswana.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.13%, USD 3.3m

A painfully dull day. There was some action in Safcom (+30bps, KES19.75) as some aggressive foreign buying returned to push the name higher. The rest of the market was extremely quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.86%, USD 760k

Another muted session in Port Louis. The bulk of the action went through in the normally illiquid Rockcastle with normal trading painfully quiet.

Nigeria: ASI -0.45%, USD 6.7m

Interest in the Lagos bourse remains woeful. Both Banks (-57bps) and Consumers (-1.18%) drifted lower on the back of low buying interest. In fact, the only reasonable action in the entire market was some crossing in GTB (+21bps, N24.00).

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Closed for the day.
