Botswana: DCI -0.48%, USD 1.5m

A much better day in Gaborone thanks to some activity in Letshego as 6.7m shares changed hands in the name.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.68%, USD 4.7m

A generally uneventful day in Kenya with foreigners net sellers for the second consecutive day. A massive chunk of today’s action was a cross in Bamburi at KES180 (local buyer, foreign seller). In the large caps most of the action was dull with KNCB and Equity Bank both closing unchanged at KES39.75. Safcom fell by 1% to KES15.55.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.09%, USD 5.5m

Another very active day in Port Louis thanks to some action in MCBG as 561k shares traded in the name with foreigners purchasing the bulk of the stock. There was also some decent activity in SBMH (18.7m shares) and NMH (261k shares).

Nigeria: ASI -1.87%, USD 9.8m

A rather uneventful day in Nigeria with both banks (-94bps) and consumers (-1.76%) having a torrid day. Banks were generally very dull with only some crossing in UBA (-33bps, N2.99) and GTB (-2.88%, N16.18) moving the needle. Consumers were also quiet except for NB (-99bps, N95.08) and Guinness (-4.45%,N115.42). There was a 5% rise in Seplat to N274.37 albeit on tiny volumes.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.41%, USD 769k

Some activity in OK Zim ($399k) and Innscor ($206k) the only names mentioning on another rather average day in Harare.
