Some decent activity in Gaborone today. Crosses went through in Letshego (200t), Sechaba (2300t) and Stanchart (1200t).

Egypt: EGX 30 +1.53%, USD 114m

The market managed to end the four-day losing streak to pick up its bullish momentum, trading 1.53% higher to close at 8,015 points yet on below average volumes of USD 114m. Foreign investors supported the market recovery, with decent buying flows in COMI (+3.42%), PHDC (+2.21%), and OCDI (+6%). Local retail took advantage of the modest recovery (EGP38.96 net sellers) targeting EGTS, reaching a session low of EGP1.56, almost 6% down, but the name witnessed some buying appetite to end the session flat. Profit-taking in AIND and TMGH caused each to end the day down 3.70% and 0.12% respectively.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.05%, USD 1.97m

Trading in the normally illiquid Swan Insurance (Rs298) dominated trading in Port Louis today. In the Sem-7 we saw MCBG lose 68bps to Rs220 while SBM rose by 95bps to Rs1.06. IBL fell by 1.65% to Rs104.25.

Nigeria: ASI +0.07%, USD 72m

Another big day in Lagos with a number of crosses yet again dominating proceedings. A chunky cross in Nestle towards the end of the session was almost half the turnover for the day. Nestle closed up 1.58% at N1089.99. Outside of this all eyes were on the banks which slid by 48bps. Outside of the continued strength in ETI (+7%, N17.99) there was strong performance from FBNH (+4.44%, N15.98) while most other names closed marginally in the red. Consumers gained a solid 1.20% led higher by Nestle and NB (+2.79%, N181). Oando was yet again very active and rose by 9.56% to N19.95.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.01%, USD 340k

Not much on the go in Harare today as value traded amounted to a dissapointing USD 340k with only 484 shares traded in Delta while 87k shares traded in Econet. The market closed the day higher with the Industrial Index gaining +0.01%.
