Another big day in Gaborone with some chunky activity in the likes of Letshego (198t), FNBB (360t) and Sefalana (750t).

Egypt: EGX 30 +1.92%, USD 140m

Egypt rallied 1.92% to close at 8116 points on decent volumes of EGP1 billion. Investors were upbeat following the release of official voting results, showing a dominant win of 96.91% for El-Sisi. The Saudi king also invited all Arab countries to attend a donation conference for Egypt. Finally, local institutions entered the market as net buyers (EGP71.3 million) for the first day this week, targeting names such as TMGH (+4.61%) trading two-times the three-month average volume. GTHE gained 8.66% and HRHO 6.76%. COMI traded against the market sentiment, ending the day 0.06% down trading 1.4 million shares.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.21%, USD 9.5m

Foreign activity was much reduced in Nairobi today and skewed towards the buy side. As usual activity was driven by the large cap names. Safcom rose by 10bps to KES12.80 while in the banks we saw Equity Bank rise to KES 41.50 and KNCB rose to close at KES 48.75. There was also a decent size foreign cross in Bamburi.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.07%, USD 8.1m

Another active day in Port Louis with big action in the likes of Lux Island Resorts, Terra, ENL Land, NMH, SBM and MCBG.

Nigeria: ASI +0.55%, USD 40.7m

Another active day in Nigeria with chunky crossing dominating the landscape. Banks rose by 68bps led higher by Zenith (+1.83%, N25.00). Activity was dominated by FBNH, GTB, Zenith and Access. Consumers rose by 48bps with NB continuing to grind higher (+1.09%, N183.99). NB was also extremely active. There were also good trading activity in the likes of UACN (-2.96%, N60.00) and Flourmills (+63bps, N77.99).

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.30%, USD 560k

A very uneventful day in Harare. The Industrials did inch higher albeit on smalls volumes, led higher by Econet (+1.48%, 68.02c) and Innscor (+97bps, 72.70c). Foreign participants were largely absent.
