A slow end to the week in Gaborone with nothing to report.
A dull end to the week in Nairobi as turnover fell to below $5m. The most active stock was BCBL (unch, KES12.65) as a number of chunky crosses (local buying/foreign selling) went through. There was also mild activity recorded in the likes of Equity Bank (unch, KES41.75), Centum (-1.2%, KES41.50) and BATK (+50bps, KES784.00). The rest of the market was rather uneventful.
An extremely quiet day to end the week in Port Louis with turnover amounting to a dull $450k with MCBG (42k shares) the only name worth mentioning.
A couple of interesting crosses went through in Lagos today. Firstly, there was an extremely large cross (739m shares) in Access Bank done by Access Bank’s local broking arm. There were also a number of crosses in Zenith Bank throughout the day (+1.20%, N17.71) while right at the close there was a chunky cross in Wapco (-1.05%, N94.00). In normal trading there was nothing special to write home about as volumes never even got started outside of the 3 large crosses.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Not a bad day to end the week in Harare (relatively speaking) with turnover amounting to $724k thanks to a cross in Simbisa ($643k) while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
