Another active day in Nairobi with the market still totally driven by local participants while foreign investors remain net sellers. Safcom again accounted for the lions share of todays volumes (unch, KES12.60) while Equity Bank remains strong (+4.6%, KES57.00). KNCB tagged along as rose by 1.7% to KES57.50. EABL found some volume for a change and closed lower by 2,5% at KES271,
A quiet end to what has been a very active week for Mauritian standards. The Sem-7 closed the day unchanged with not a single stock moving higher or lower.
A strong day in Lagos with performance and volumes both positive compared to recent sessions. The banks were incredibly well bid (+88bps) and also witnessed a number of chunky crosses. The most active names were UBA (+2.65%, N6.96), GTB (+1.65%, N28.95), FBNH (-1.46%, N14.22) and Zenith (+20bps, N24.65). Consumers were also strong and gained 99bps led higher by Intbrew (+3.09%, N29.00) and Nestle (+3.89%, N1050). The cements also saw some activity with DangCem (+1.82%, N224.00) and Wapco (+2.08%, N127.50) both strong. In economic news the Central Bank left the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 12%.
