Botswana: DCI -0.18%, USD 308k
A decent day in Botswana terms as we saw some action in Choppies (405t), Sechaba (2178t), Turnstar (185t) and Stanchart (1175t).
Egypt: Closed for the day.
Kenya: NSE 20 +0.67%, USD 13.9m
An active day to end the short week in Nairobi with notable foreign buying. It was the usual suspects that dominated the volumes yet again. The banks continue to run hard and ended the week on the front foot, Equity Bank gaining a further 2.1% to KES 36.25 while KNCB rose by 1% to KES 49.75. Despite trading on good volumes, both Safcom (-1.1%, KES 13.05) and EABL (-1%, KES 293) ended the week on a soft note. Co-op Bank joined the banking rally as the name gained 2.2% to KES 22.75 as well as seeing some decent activity.
Mauritius: Semdex +0.06%, USD 1.16m
A relatively uneventful day in Port Louis. The Sem-7 gained 26bps thanks to gains in the 2 major banks, MCBG rising by 23bps to Rs218.50 while SBM grew by 97bps to Rs1.04. The only faller was IBL which lost 93bps to Rs106.00.
Nigeria: ASI -0.29%, USD 16.32m
Activity dropped off drastically in Lagos today as value traded amounted to $16.32m with FBNH ($2.23m), Zenith ($2.06m), Skye Bank ($2.03m) and NB ($1.76m) driving activity. Banks came under some rpessure with the index falling -1.76% with Zenith (-4.89%) and Access (-4.85%) taking a hammering. Consumers (+0.21%) however managed to close higher with PZ Cussons (+2.78%) and Flour Mills (+0.97%) lifting the sector higher.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.44%, Mining unch, USD 1.21m
It was a decent day to end the week in Harare as value traded amounted to USD 1.21m with FBCH ($424k) and DZL ($417k) driving turnover. Delta and Econet were very quiet as only 98k and 32k shares traded in the names respectively. The market closed the day higher with the Industrial Index gaining +0.44%.
