Nothing overly exciting to note bar some local trades in Barclays (590t) and G4S (400t).
An extremely quiet start to the week in Kenya. The only stock that saw any modicum of activity was KNCB which slipped by 2.7% to KES36.00. Safcom was unusually dull and also fell, the telco lost 2.13% to close at KES23.00. The rest of the market was quiet.
Once again the Mauritian bourse was heavily dominated by MCBG as the banking giant hit yet another all-time high (Rs257.00, +70bps). The rest of the market was uneventful.
Another positive day in Lagos as both the Banks (+51bps) and Consumers (+65bps) outperformed. The bulk of today’s action went through in GTB (+76bps, N36.00) thanks to multiple crosses in the name. The other bank to see decent action was ETI which closed up 7.12% at N15.35. In the consumers the bulk of the trading took place in NB (+61bps, N165.00). DangCem also saw some chunky trading as the market heavyweight closed 2.44% higher at N210.00.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Locals continue to push the ZSE higher although today we saw a much slower increase than we have witnessed in recent sessions. The market was also much more subdued than normal.
