Things not looking to good on the Gaborone bourse today as FNBB (unch, $56k) and BTCL (+0.01%, $29k) accounted for almost all of the market turnover.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.29%, USD 2.46m

The Kenya bourse opened on the back foot and remained that way for the entire session as red covered the trading screens. Equity was the only counter that managed to breach the $1m mark. The rest of the other counters were extremely quiet. Foreign participation was up to 75.7% from 71.9% yesterday.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.02%, USD 180k

The Semdex weakened with a trivial Rs102m changing hands on the bourse. MCBG (unch, Rs283) once again fighting a valiant fight being 33% of total market turnover. The little movement that took place on the stock exchange was stretched between CIEL (unch, Rs7.48), Fincorp (+1.1%, Rs27.30), NIT (unch, Rs25.75) and IBL (unch, 45.10).

Nigeria: ASI Nigeria: ASI +1.17%, USD 7.86m0.15%, USD 7.55m

Another relatively uneventful day in Lagos although we did see both the banks (+78bps) and consumers (+51bps) gaining ground. Notable trades of the day were Guaranty ($6.68mn), NB ($1.1mn), UBA ($892k) and Dangcem ($611k).

Zimbabwe: Industrials +2.61%, USD 5.66m

A chunky and bullish trade in Delta driving the market today on the Harare bourse. Delta ($2.4m) appreciated -3.03% to 279.05c and accounted for 43% of today’s volume. Innscor (180.00c, $969k) unchanged, BAT (3.00c, $668k) up 9.37%, while OKZim ($354k) unch at 31.00c and Powerspeed (7.50c, $222k) following suit.
