Botswana: DCI unch, USD 115k

An uneventful day in Botswana.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.19%, USD 4.1m

Much of the same in Nairobi on the activity front with Safcom ($1.6m) once again the leading the pack, as the telco closed -1.7% lower. EQBNK managed to bounce after yesterday's bloodbath, closing the day +1.8% higher on low volume. Foreign investors continue to drive proceedings and accounted for 68.5% of total value traded.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.10%, USD 2.6m

A large foreign cross in IBL (unch, Rs37.00) just after the market opened was the main focal point today with the name accounting for approximately 44% of total market turnover. There was also activity in MCBG (unch, Rs225.00), SBMH (-30bps, Rs7.00) and NMH (+20bps, Rs21.00).

Nigeria: ASI +0.46%, USD 6.1m

Another average day in Lagos with GTB ($1.5m) the only name worth mentioning from an activity point of view. Banking stocks had a very solid day with the sector gaining +1.78% thanks to UBA (+3.85%), Zenith (+2.83%) and GTB (+1.78%). Consumers closed +0.96% higher, but on very thin volume.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.83%, USD 1.2m

Delta (85.99c) dominated both the volumes and direction of the ZSE today. Jumping on the coattails we saw Econet rise to 14.99c while Innscor was also strong at 43.88c after reporting 2017 H1 results early in the day.
