An average day on the bourse as turnover amounted to a $528k. Letshego accounted for the bulk of activity as the counter traded a total of 1.96m shares to close unchanged at 197t. The was small activity across the board.
Market turnover on the Nairobi bouse declined by approximately 63% from yesterday’s session with foreigners assuming 66.2% of today’s buying and 61.1% of selling. Safcom (KES25.50) was the only ticker to break the $1m mark advancing 0.99% after releasing its H1 2018 results, while Eqiuty (-1.23%, KES40.25), Kenya Re (-3.53%, KES20.50) and KNCB (+1.22%, KES41.50) were the only other names worth mentioning.
Activity in Port Louis today was dominated by a cross of ALTEO which traded 200k shares at Rs31.50 (-1.6%). MCBG (+0.4, Rs276.00) traded thin volume while on the other hand, SBMH (unch, Rs7.40) traded 263k shares, 160k of that being foreign sales.
Slightly bearish sentiments prevailed to end the week on the bourse with the financial sector retreating 0.42% and the consumers advancing 1.01%. FBNH (-0.84%, N7.05), Intbrew (-4.37, N46.85), UBA (-1.00%, N9.90) and GTB (-1.69%, N41.21) were the major movers on a semi-decent day in Lagos.

The bulk of today’s action traded in Econet @1.82, OML @14.30 and Innscor @1.6592. There was also some small action in Barclays and Delta, while the rest of the market was quiet. The industrial index closed the week higher on the back of gains in Delta, Edgars and OKZim while the mining index retreated 0.14 points with RioZim trading weaker.
