Botswana: DCI +0.12%, USD 67.98k

Things not looking too good in Gaborone with Barclays (unch, $36k) and BTCL (+0.04%, $24k) accounting for a combined 89% of the market.

Kenya: NSE20 +0.40%, USD 4.88m

A relatively uneventful day in Nairobi today with Safaricom (+1%, KES25.75) dominating the market on the back of foreign buying. Foreign participation dropped to 46.8% compared to yesterday’s 50.2%.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.38%, USD 3.41m

SBMH (unch, Rs7.60) was among the top turnover drivers again today with 2m shares exchanging hands. MCBG (+0.4%, Rs275.00) on the back of foreign selling. Both the Semdex and the Sem-10 clipped higher again today.

Nigeria: ASI +0.05%, USD 32.51m

An impressive day in Lagos today as we saw foreign crosses in NB ($26.3m) with 68m shares exchanging hands. Other names that saw some activity include GUINNESS ($1.40mn), ZB ($1.2mn), and GTB ($730k). The banking stocks clipped +0.64% higher while the consumers shed -0.08%.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -7.76%, USD 31.5m

The market crashed in Harare today losing $1,2bln as Zimbabwe waits on Mugabe exit. Only one name worth mentioning on a blockbuster day in Harare. Econet (167.47c, $31.13m) accounted for 98.7% of total market turnover all thanks to some massive crosses.
