Botswana: DCI +0.02%, USD 88.50k

Not the best of days in Gaborone with Choppies ($69k) being 78% of the market while FNBB ($6.4k) and Cresta ($6.4k) were the only other names with some kind of activity.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.7%, USD 7.6m

Turnover declined by 1.8% to close at USD 7.6m with SAFCOM (38%), BATK (33%) and COOP (12%) dominating the turnover on the day. Foreign paricipation dropped to 49% from 81%.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.20%, USD 1.73m

Market turnover amounted to Rs59.6m and was mainly wired towards SBM (+0.3%, Rs7.60) following its quarterly earnings release showing an increase in EPS to Rs2.14 (+32.8%). GRIT (unch, Rs1.38) and MCBG (-0.4%, Rs274.00) contributed to 56.4% to the market.

Nigeria: ASI -0.96%, USD 9.50m

Another solid day in Harare as turnover was geared towards block trades in Econet (186.77c, $10.73m) accounting for 68% of total market turnover, Delta (321.57c, $1.88m) and Old Mutual (1,430.00c, $1.66m). The industrial index gained marginally by 1.96 points while the mining index was flat.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.37%, USD 15.7m

Crosses in Econet and Old Mutual continue to dominate the market in Harare, today they accounted for 84% of turnover. Delta ($1.6m), Simbisa ($503k) and PPC ($489) also traded decent volume. The industrial index closed +0.12% higher after some small gains in OK (+1.4%),Delta (+0.2%), Seedco (+0.2%) and Econet (0.1%).
