Things slowed down in Gaborone today with some small action BIHL ($164k) the only name worth mentioning.
The market was bullish with foreigners accounting for 91.90% of total sales. Foreigners were mainly selling Safaricom (unch, KES24.75), Diamond (unch, KES177.00) and Eqbnk (+0.65%, KES39.00) whilst locals were taking advantage of the lower prices in Co-op (+0.62%, KES16.30). Safaricom was the most actively traded counter in the session (accounted for 53% of activity) on the back of its dividend record date on 09/15/2017.
Activity was spread across the board today in Port Louis. The Sem-10 slid by 67bps with weakness in MCBG (-20bps, Rs269.25), IBL (-220bps, Rs43.00) and Terra (-30bps, Rs7.72). The only riser to mention was ABC Motors gaining 500bps to Rs115.50. In Economic news The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Mauritius announced that the the Key Repo Rate will drop from 4.00% to 3.5% per annum.
The market closed higher with the consumers (+1.07%) leading the gains as Guinness closed up 10.24%. Guaranty (-1.26%) dominated the action on the day with foreign crosses accounting for circa 50% of turnover. The Industrials and Oil & Gas were the only indices that closed negative.

Another strong day on the Harare bourse as the aggressive local buying continues unabated. Today we saw some chunky volumes in the Simbisa ($1.5m), Seedco ($768k) Innscor ($621k) Mash ($378k) and Econet ($239k).
