Barclays (unch, $70k) and BIHL (unch, $61k) the only two names worth mentioning in Gaborone bourse today.
Another very dull day in Nairobi as activity remains muted. The major action went through in EABL (2.0%, KES247.00) on the back of active foreign selling. There was also some small activity in KCB (+0.6%. KES43.00) and Safcom (+2.0%, KES25.75). The rest of the market was quiet as foreign participation was 48.3% compared to yesterday’s 51.9%.
The Semdex strengthened for the second consecutive day, rising 0.09% while volumes remain decent. Activity was spread across the board with the likes of MCBG (+0.1%%, Rs275.25), Alteo (+0.5%, Rs31.65) just released its FY2017 results this morning and Rogers (unch, Rs29.00) contributing to the strengthening of the index.
A better day in Lagos with turnover increasing to $24.1m thanks to crosses in GTB ($18.6m), Zenith ($1.5m) and Access ($1.0m). Banks managed to close on the front foot with the index gaining +0.23% thanks to FBNH (+4.27%, N5.37), Skyebank (3.77%, N0.55), FCMB (1.96%, N1.04) and Diamond (+1.82%, N1.12). Consumers (+1.26%) also closed the day higher with NB (+2.98%, N173.00), Guinness (+2.56%, N99.28), UACN (+1.33%, N15.20) and Nascon (+1.21%, N12.50) sustaining sector.

The Harare bourse picked up once again with activity spread across the board as Innscor (144.96c, $2.5m) lead the way accounting with 40% of total market turnover. Other tickers driving the market were Simbisa ( 70.00c, $1.4m) 22% of market, Old Mutual (780.94c, $423k), Seedco (234.47c, $221k), Econet (80.04c, $942k), Delta (220.06c, $271k) and Zimplow (8.04c, $175k).
