A decent enough day in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $6.9m with foreigners (58.1%) dominating activity. Foreign selling pressure drove EABL -1.3% lower on 578k shares. Safcom (-0.4%) was also driven lower by foreigners as 7.36m shares traded. Both KNCB and EQBNK closed the day unchanged as foreigners dominated activity in the counters with 1.77m shares and 1.13m shares traded respectively.
The hot-item of the day was MCBG, as the stock accounted 71% of total turnover. Several crosses in the name drove the share price to Rs198 (+0.51%), as 375,511 shares changed hands. Rogers recent rally came to an end, as it shed -4.9% to close at Rs29.00, with a total of 172,510 shares traded.
A better day in terms of activity with the highlight of the day being a cross in ETI ($6.01m) as total market turnover amounted to $25.2m. There was also some action in GTB ($4.12m), Zenith ($2.02m) and Dangote Sugar ($1.79m). Banking stocks came under pressure with the sector falling -2.19% thanks to Zenith (-4.99%) and GTB (-2.20%). Consumers (-1.08%) also closed lower with Flour Mills (-5.00%), Dangote Flour (-3.33%), Guinness (-1.47%) and NB (-1.25%) dragging the sector lower.

Delta closed at 111.10c on the back of 77,100 shares traded as the stock accounted for 50.94% of total turnover. Econet and Innscor accounted 29.20% and 7.67% of total turnover, closing at 50c and 57c respectively. The rest of the market saw meager volumes, with persistent demand for Blue chip counters.
