A better day in Gaborone, but still nothing to write home about with FNBB the only name worth mentioning as 1m shares traded in the name.
A massive day in Nairobi although the weakness still persists. The main contributor was a foreign-foreign cross in Equity Bank (more than $6m changed hands) with the bank closing down 1.6% at KES38.50. The other big names also saw some decent action with Safcom (+30bps, KES17.40) closing higher while both KNCB (-1.5%, KES32.25) and EABL (-40bps, KES269) ended the day in the red.
Another very active day in Port Louis thanks once again to MCBG as 193k shares traded with the name accounting for more than 50% of turnover while there was also some small action in SBMH as 12m shares changed hands.
Another woeful day in Lagos as the interest continues to wane. The index slipped further mostly on the back of the banks which fell by a further 1.45% today. Today the only decent activity we saw was in Zenith which closed at N16.15 (-92bps). Consumers actually closed up 40bps although outside of NB (+71bps, N134.00) the sector was dead. There was also some crossing in Dangcem (unch, N190.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another horrible day in Harare with nothing to report.
