Today was all about Choppies with a large foreign-foreign cross going through at 454t. There was also some smaller action in Sefalana (1250t).

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.81%, USD 7.8m

Market activity was once again heavily dependent on the large cap names while foreign participants remain heavily active. EABL witnessed some chunky foreign crosses as the name closed at KES285 (+70bps). Safcom fell by a further 70bps to KES15.15. Amongst the banks we saw KNCB increase by 90bps to KES54.50 while Equity Bank fell by 60bps to KES45.00.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.02%, USD 1.08m

The index never really found any direction today on relatively muted volumes. Both MCBG (Rs211.75) and SBMH (Rs0.87) closed the day unchanged.

Nigeria: Closed today

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.05%, USD 2.19m

A much better day as turnover amounted to $2.19m thanks to crosses in Delta ($1.04m), Econet ($597k) and Seedco ($306k) while the market closed lower with the Industrial Index falling -0.05%.
