Botswana: DCI +0.01%, USD 2.06m

A very active day in Gaborone on the back of heavy action in Letshego. The action was mostly foreign on both sides as almost 7m shares changed hands and closed at 271t. Outside of this the market was quiet.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.31%, USD 6.8m

A rather subdued day in Nairobi despite foreign participants remaining active. Foreign investors remain skewed to the buy side. The most active name was EABL which gained 30bps to close at KES299. The banks were also active Equity Bank gaining 1% to KES50.50 while KNCB gained 90bps to KES56.50. Safcom was also actively traded and closed 1.1% higher at KES13.70.

Mauritius: Semdex 0.22%, USD 1.64m

Some decent trading again in Port Louis. MCBG was the most active stock yet closed down 12bps at Rs203.00 while SBMH closed unchanged at Rs1.04.

Nigeria: ASI +2.51%, USD 41.7m

An active end to an active week in Lagos with the index again closing strongly but this is thanks again to DangCem (+10%, N205.90) despite the name being at limit down for most of the day. Banks had another soft day as they fell by 1.53% on decent volumes. Activity was led, as always, by Zenith (+97bps, N20.80), FBNH (-5.26%, N9.36) and GTB (-3.67%, N23.12). Consumers gained a solid 88bps to end a solid week with chunky trading in the likes of NB (+1.36%, N162.17) and Nestle (-25bps, N900.22). Cements had another active day as DangCem closed up 10% while Wapco shed 93bps to N80.00. Oando was also a very active stock and gained 4.93% to N21.93

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.89%, USD 1.86m

A chunky cross in Delta ($1.1m) was the bulk of trading as the ZSE remains lackluster. There was also some mild activity in the illiquid name Afdis. Econet was extremely quiet.
