Botswana: DCI +0.03%, USD 3.77m

A very impressive day from an activity point of view in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $3.77m thanks to crosses in Choppies (5.21m shares) and Sechaba (437k shares).

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.42%, USD 14.1m

A very active day in Nairorbi as foreigners (80%) dominated purchases with total value traded amounting to $14.1m. KNCB is still very much in demand by foreigners as the the bank gained +1.7% on 6.06m shares. EQBNK (+4.6%) continued to rally today on the back of foreign (69%) purchases with 6.49m shares changing hands in the counter. EABL (+1.5%) was also very strong on the back of foreign (98%) demand. Foreigners dominated both sides of Safcom as 7.15m shares traded in the telco.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.08%, USD 1.64m

Things slowed down in Port Louis today but it was still relatively active as turnover amounted to $1.64m. Market heavyweights MCBG (125k shares) and SBMH (11.87m shares) drove proceedings while the rest of the market was rather quiet.

Nigeria: ASI +0.35%, USD 26.5m

Things slowed down in Lagos today but it was still decent enough from an activity point of view with turnover amounting to $26.5m. Zenith ($7.84m) continued to dominate proceedings thanks to more large crosses in the name. There was also some decent activity in Oando ($3m), NB ($1.63m), GTB ($1.39m) and UBA ($1.34m). Banks closed higher again with t he Index gianing +0.61% thanks to strength in UBA (+6.20%), FBNH (+4.31%) and GTB (+0.80%). Consumers (+2.91%) continued to bounce today with Flour Mills (+10.23%), UACN (+4.98%), NB (+4.26%) and 7UP(+3.13%) all closing firmly in the black.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.17%, USD 2.85m

A large cross in Delta ($2.6m) was the highlight of today's session as total value traded amounted to $2.85m. There was some small activity in Old Mutual ($183k) while the rest of the market was very quiet. The market closed the day lower with the Industrial Index falling -0.17%.
