Not much on the go in Gaborone today after Friday's excitement with turnover amounting $114k.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.40%, USD 3.4m

Another woeful day in Nairobi as the market just never got going. Foreign activity was also very low. On days like this its always very hard to make any deductions on market sentiment and today was no different. The only action worth noting was some activity in KNCB (+90bps, KES57) while the second most active stock was the little traded Carbacid (all local trading). There was muted trading in EABL (-30bps, KES294) and Safcom (-1.1%, KES13.45).

Mauritius: Semdex -0.11%, USD 2.47m

A very solid start to the week in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $2.47m thanks to MCBG as 251k shares changed hands in the banking giant. The rest of the market was very quiet with some action in UBP (134k shares) the only other name worth mentioning.

Nigeria: ASI -0.15%, USD 16.6m

Another quiet day in Lagos as interest seems rather lackluster. Banks gained a marginal amount (+11bps) although the only activity took place in FBNH (+86bps, N9.40) and Zenith (-95bps, $20.75). Consumers gained a more impressive 59bps although volumes across the entire sector were very thin with nothing notable to report. In the cements there was a cross in DangCem late in the session (-1.98%, N185.25). Oando gained 5% to N21.41 on decent volumes. Seplat witnessed some decent volumes for a change and closed the day up 94bps at N430.00.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.07%, USD 1.23m

A decent enough start to the week with turnover amounting to $1.23m thanks to some action in MASH ($866k) while the rest of the market was rather quiet. The market continues to fall with the Industrial Index falling -0.07% today.
