Botswana: DCI -0.06%, USD 769k

A decent day (relatively speaking) to end the week as turnover amounted to USD 769k thanks to some action in Letshego (1.5m shares) and Sefalana (133k shares).

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.19%, USD 9.1m

A decent enough day from an activity point of view in Nairobi with total value traded amounting to $9.1m as foreigners (76.7%) dominated activity. Foreigners dominated both sides of EABL but were however net sellers in the brewer as the name fell -0.7% on 1.08m shares. Foreigners also completely dominated proceedings in KNCB as the bank came under pressure and fell -1.7%. EQBNK managed to close flat at KES 50.50 as foreigners accounted for the majority of purchases. There were a few foreign crosses in BATK as 43k shares traded in the name.

Another active end to the week in Port Louis. The most active stock was MCBG (-47bps, Rs211.00). This dragged down SBMH (-96bps, Rs1.03).

Nigeria : ASI -0.76%, USD 23.4m

A rather average day to end the week in Lagos as turnover amounted to $23.4m with some crosses in Access ($3.58m), ETI ($3.12m), GTB ($2.68m), NB ($2.30m) and Zenith ($1.85m) being the major drivers behind activity. Banks managed to bounce slightly after an horrific week with the Index gaining +0.19% thanks to FBNH (+7.27%), Zenith (+1.52$) and ETI (+1.11%). Consumers (-1.23%) came under some pressure with UACN (-3.70%), NB (-2.68%) and Guinness (-1.10%) dragging the sector lower. WAPCO and DangCem continued to fall with the names closing -4.96% and -1.40% lower respectively.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -19%, USD 245k

An absolutely pathetic day in Zimbabwe as virtually nothing happened with a liquid name like Econet not even trading 1 share!
