Kenya: NSE 20 +0.40%, USD 2.8m

An absolutely woeful start to the week in Nairobi with a small cross in CFC Stanbic the highlight of the day as 1.2m shares traded in the name. The two major banking stocks ended the day mixed with EQBNK closing unchanged while KNCB gained +1.0%. EABL continued to gain (on tiny volume) with the brewer closing +3.5% higher. Not much on the go in Safcom as 2.1m shares traded in the telco.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.07%, USD 610k

A quiet start to the week on the Mauritian bourse with MCBG extremely quiet. Today the bulk of the action was witnessed in SBMH (unch, Rs0.67).

Nigeria: ASI -0.07%, USD 9.1m

Another slow start to the week in Lagos with some sporadic activity in GTB ($1.6m), Access ($1.4m) and NB ($1.1m) the only names with some form of activity. Banking stocks closed the day slightly higher with the sector gaining +0.25% thanks to Zenith (+0.21%) and GTB (+0.18%). Consumers (-0.92%) came under a bit of pressure with NB (-1.13%) dragging the sector lower.
