An average day in Gaborone with some action in Choppies and NAP driving proceedings as 324k shares and 400k shares changed hands in the names respectively.
An absolutely pathetic day from an activity point of view with turnover amounting to a paltry $1.4m. There was a tiny bit of activity in Safcom as 2.6m shares traded while the rest of the market was frighteningly quiet.
A sub-par day from an activity point of view in Port Louis with nothing to report in the heavyweights as we saw small volumes in most of the names.
Things continue to get worse from an activity and interest point of view as turnover amounted to a dire $4.4m with small activity in GTB ($1.3m) the only name worth mentioning. Banking stocks closed the day lower with the sector falling -0.31% thanks to UBA (-2.48%). Consumers managed to close +0.49% higher thanks to NB (+1.32%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some activity in FBC ($251k), Simbisa ($188k) and Padenga ($104k) the only names worth mentioning on another dull day in Harare.
