A decent day in Gaborone as total value traded amounted to $973k thanks to WIL (1.25m shares) and Letshego (1m shares).
Another massive day in Nairobi as foreigners remain totally dominant in the market (>90%). Safcom was the early excitement with more than 80m shares crossing as the telco eventually closed at KES14.00 (-1.1%). Some aggressive buyers came back in Equity Bank which pushed the banking group up 2.6% to KES38.75 after they released H1 2015 results before the open. KNCB was the opposite and continued its fall as it fell by a further 4.1% to KES47.00. Outside of these 3 names the market was quiet.
A very impsressive day in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $2.82m thanks once again to crosses in MCBG (370k shares) while 12.8m shares traded in SBMH with the rest of the market very quiet.
A pleasing return to market volumes while some buyers also returned to the Lagos bourse. Banks gained an impressive 2.83% while consumers rose by 57bps. Banks were led by some chunky crosses in GTB (+6.03%, N24.45) and Zenith Bank (+2.93%, N16.49). The consumers were painfully dull while there were a couple of crosses in DangCem (unch, N172.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another slow day in Harare as turnover amounted to $218k with Innscor ($131k) the only name worth mentioning.
