Another active day in Gaborone with some good activity seen once again in Choppies while Letshego came to the party as well. Choppies fell off slightly to 545t while Letshego closed at 335t.
Another quiet day in the main East African market. Once again a decent size cross in BATK (-3.3%, KES829.00) went through. Among the large caps most of the focus was in KNCB (-1.1%, KES46.50) with foreign investors heavily involved on both sides. Safcom gained 1% to KES15.00 while some late action in EABL meant the name closed down 1.3% at KES301.00.
A dull day in Port Louis in the absence of any large crosses. SBMH recouped yesterday's loss by gaining 1.2% to Rs0.87 while MCBG crept up by 10bps to Rs217.25.
Another dull day in Lagos with Dangcem (+1.67%, N183.00) once again pulling the index back from a total collapse. Banks fell by a further 1.53% with the bulk of the action taking place in GTB (-1.79%, N22.00) and UBA (-1.54%, N3.20). The consumers closed marginally in the red although outside of 1 cross in Nestle (unch, N840.00) the sector was painfully quiet.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The index fell by a further 1.29% today as volumes remain on the thin side. There was some activity in Delta (88c) and OKZim (7.5c).
