Some action in FNBB was the highlight of the day as 3.57m shares traded in the name while there was also some activity in Barclays (1.35m shares).
A very active day to end the week in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $17.5m with foreigners once again dominating proceedings. There were a few large foreign crosses in EABL as the brewer gained +1.9% on 1.64m shares. Safcom continued to rally on foreign interest as the telco closed +4.8% higher on 29.1m shares. The two major banks had a much better day on decent volume with KNCB gaining +2.3% while EQBNK gained +4.8%. Britam (+3.9%) closed higher after releasing H1 results.
A solid session from an activity point of view to end the week in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $1.33m thanks to some action in MCBG (87k shares) and NMH (699k shares) while SBMH (2.48m shares) was very quiet.
A decent day to end the week in Lagos as total value traded amounted to $21.3m thanks to crosses in the likes of Zenith ($6.04m), Nestle ($5.21m), NB ($2.18m) and WAPCO ($1.59m). Banks had a very good session with the sector gaining +4.11% with the star performers being FBNH (+8.33%), Zenith (+5.38%) and GTB (+4.98%) while the rest of the sector was very strong as well. Consumers (+0.21%) managed to close higher with brewers leading the sector higher as Guinness (+9.97%), IntBrew (+5.13%) and NB (+5.00%) were very strong.

Finally some positive news in Harare although don’t get your hopes up just yet as it did increase on small volumes.
