Botswana: DCI +0.93%, USD 103k
Not much on the go in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $103k with the only action in Choppies (182k shares).
Kenya: NSE 20 +0.78%, USD 12.3m
The NSE finally gained some traction as bargain buyers decided the time was right to pull the trigger. Foreigners still remain dominant in the market although it was notable how much more the locals were participating today. As usual, the bulk of the volumes focuses on the major names. The main action today was in Safcom (-40bps, KES13.90), EqBnk (+1.9%, KES40.00) and KNCB (unch, KES46.00). There was also a couple of chunky local trades in CFCB (+4.7%, KES100.00).
Mauritius: Semdex -0.05%, USD 450k
A very dull day in Port Louis as turnover amounted to a paltry $450k with only 2k MCBG traded on the day while 57k shares changed hands in SBMH.
Nigeria: ASI +0.29%, USD 26.7m
Another decent day in terms of volumes in Lagos while the ASI closed yet again in the green. The banks (-1.59%) did finally retreat after a strong couple of days with all names closing in the red. There were decent volumes in GTB (-1.40%, N24.70), Zenith Bank (-64bps, N17.20) and FBNH (-2.17%, N6.75). The consumers gained 2.44% although the sector remains quiet outside of an early cross in Flourmills (-4.99%, N30.84). There was also decent volume in the likes of Wapco (unch, N103.00) and Forte Oil (-1.45%, N200.00).

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.66%, USD 1.28m
A much better day as turnover increased to $1.28m thanks to some action in OK Zim ($506k), Econet ($351k) and Delta ($290k).
