Botswana: DCI unch USD 638k

A below average day in Gaborone with some activity in Turnstar 1.6m (USD536k, 3.25t) and Letshego 105k (USD20k, 1.94t) shares trading in the names and amounting to more than 87% of the market

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.5%, USD 3.7m

A slow start to the week with the main highlight being in Safcom (+0.9%, KES26.75) on the back of foreign buying. Notably, I&M Holdings was down 1.6% to close at KES123.00 after reporting that EPS declined by 16.8% y/y in 1H17. Foreign investor participation stood at 30.4% compared to Friday’s 45.8%.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.06%, USD 5.45m

A great day to start the week in Port Louis with a massive cross in GRIT (-16.8%, Rs1.39) amounting to almost 70% of total market turnover. Other names worth mentioning are MCBG (+0.2%, Rs269) and SBMH (unch, Rs7.86).

Nigeria: ASI -0.9%, USD 8.27m

Things slowed down rather drastically on the Nigerian stock exchange today starting the week with some activity in Custodyins (-0.29%, $1.79m), Nestle (unch, $1.64m) and, Stanbic (unch, 700k) the only names worth mentioning. Banking stocks failing to impress with the sector closing -1.62% lower the same in consumer -1.35%.
