Local investors dominated the market today on a much quieter day (although volumes still impressive). Two of the more active names were the banks with KNCB (unch, KES59.00) and EqBnk (unch, KES51.50) both heavily bought by local investors and mostly sold by foreign investors. Nigeria: ASI +2.25%, USD 37.6m

A massive day in Lagos led by the banks sentiment for the sector really changed after strong GTB and Zenith results yesterday. The sector gained almost 8% with most names closing at limit up and on net bid. The most active names were the Tier 1 names like FBNH, GTB, UBA and Zenith (all these names closed limit up). The consumers didnt follow suit and only closed marginally positive. There were chunky crosses in NB (+10bps, N145.15) and Nestle (unch, N820.00). There was also a massive local cross in the normally illiquid JBerger.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
