Botswana: DCI -0.06%, USD 1.13m

A very solid start to the week in Gaborone with turnover amounting to $1.13m thanks to a cross in Letshego (4.55m shares) while the rest of the market was very quiet.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.03%, USD 8.4m

Another active day in Nairobi with foreign activity also chunky. EABL got the day started with a chunky cross (both sides foreign) and there was some more activity later in the day as the brewer closed unchanged at KES299. Equity Bank also saw some decent action (-1.9%, KES50.50) while KNCB was virtually dead. There was also some reasonable action in Safcom (-1.6%, KES15.55) mostly on the back of foreign selling.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.25%, USD 360k

A very quiet day in Port Louise as MCBG traded a paltry 3.6k shares to close flat at Rs202.00, while SBM traded most of its shares at Rs1.00 before retreating to Rs0.99 (during the last few minutes of the session). The counter traded a total of 213k shares. ENL closed the session off as the winner, closing 0.5% up at Rs50.25 after 9.4k shares were exchanged in the name.

Nigeria: ASI +0.47%, USD 25.3m

A decent start to the week in Lagos as turnover amounted to $25.3m with some action in Zenith ($8.06m), GTB ($3.54m), FBNH ($3.05m), NB ($2.64m) and DangCem ($1.50m). Banks had a strong start to the week with the Index gaining +1.46% thanks to ETI (+2.95%), Access (+2.48%), Zenith (+2.20%) and FBNH (+2.16%). Consumers (+0.38%) also closed higher with good performances in Cadbury (+8.92%) and Dangote Flour (+1.80%).

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.45%, USD 1.3m

The index retreated by 0.45% on the back of price losses in heavyweights Delta(-1.32%) and Econet (-0.22%). Delta traded 486k shares closing down at 112.50c, while Econet saw depressed volumes (4.5k) to close down at 50c. Innscor made a significant contribution towards turnover ($407k) after 701k shares were traded in the name at 58c.
