Some volume went through in the like of Barclays and BIHL, trading 426k and 138k shares respectively. The rest of the market saw paltry trades.
A better day in Nairobi as turnover increased to $8.5m with locals dominating proceedings. EQBNK managed to close the day unchanged as foreigners continue to sell the name with 3.51m shares changing hands on the day. KNCB also managed to close the day flat with foreigners dominating pruchases. Safcom gained +0.6% as both locals and foreigners looked to buy the telco. Kenya Power was relatively active as 3.52m shares changed hands.
A massive day in Port Louise as turnover amounted to $5.4m. MCBG gained 1.8% to close at Rs198.50 on the back of 739k shares traded (75% of total turnover). SBM also had an impressive day trading 22m shares to close 2.1% up at Rs0.99.
Another dull day in Lagos although a couple of crosses went through as the day progressed. The banks gained a marginal 20bps with activity wholly dominated by Zenith (+66bps, N16.70) and GTB (-1.36%, N22.50). Consumers ended the day unchanged and we also saw some decent action in the likes of NB (+38bps, N132.00), Nestle (-1.83%, N805.00) and UACN (-2.08%, N33.49). There was also some local trading in Oando (-2.07%, N13.23). In economic news the MPC kept the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 13%.

A small bit of activity in Innscor ($170k), 300k shares were traded in the name resulting in a closing price of 56.50c. Other contributors were Delta ($45k), Ok Zim ($20k) and Seedco ($117k), each trading 41k, 155k and 110k shares respectively.
