Once again it was all local in Gaborone. Today was the turn of FNBB (280t) which accounted for almost the entire day’s turnover.
A quiet end to the week in Kenya. And yet again the volumes were heavily dominated by Safcom with the telco gaining another 51bps to KES19.75. There was also some late action in EABL (-43bps, KES233.00). There were no other trades worth mentioning.
A muted end to a muted week. There were no exceptionally large trades to write home about. In economic news, the Key Repo Rate was left unchanged at 4.00%.
Once again the most notable trend in the market was foreign buyers of banks while selling was predominantly local. Banks also dominated the turnover charts while the sector gained 34bps. As usual, the bulk of the action went through in Zenith Bank (+1.57%, N16.18) and GTB (unch, N26.70). Consumers ended the day where they started on quiet volumes. There was also a large cross (both sides local) in Oando.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The lion’s share of today’s action went through in Delta (88.24c) while the rest of the market was largely quiet.
