Some small activity in FNBB the only name worth mentioning.
A much better day in Nairobi thanks to some foreign action in Safcom ($8.3m) as the telco closed the day unchanged after yesterday's announcement that Vodafone would be selling their stake in the company to Vodacom. There was also some very solid action in KNCB ($2.7m) with foreigners dominating purchases while locals were net sellers as the bank closed +2.8% higher. The rest of the market was unfortunately very quiet.
MCBG continued its drop after the recent strong run as it fell by a further 80bps to Rs238.00. Activity was dominated by MCBG and SBMH (-30bps, Rs7.58).
Activity continues to impress in Lagos with some solid action in DangCem ($5.1m), Access ($3.9m), GTB ($2.7m), Zenith ($1.5m) and NB ($1.4m) leading the way. Banking stocks managed to close in positive terriotry with the sector gaining +0.88% thanks to Access (+2.43%), GTB (+1.69%) and Zenith (+0.64%). Consumers stocks (+1.27%) also closed the day higher thanks to a good performance in NB (+2.35%).
