A very impressive day in Gaborone, but this should however be taken with a pinch of salt as a large cross in Sechaba accounted for the majority of the volume as 3.6m share changed hands in the name.
A much slower day in Nairobi with Safcom ($1.81m) the only name worth mentioning from an activity point of view as the telco closed +2.44% higher on foreign demand. Elsewhere, there was some small activity in EABL and EQBNK, but nothing worth writing home about.
An average day in Port Louis with some action in MCBG dominating proceedings as 87k shares changed hands in the name.
A rather uninspiring day in Lagos with some action in Zenith ($5.4m) and GTB ($1m) the only names worth mentioning. Banking stocks closed the day +1.47% higher thanks to Zenith (+1.69%) and GTB (+1.46%). Consumers (-0.72%) closed in negative territory on relatively light volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Once again aggressive local buying pushed the market higher. Activity was split across a multitude of names with no really big crosses going through. Econet closed up at 27.75c while Delta closed at 95.25c.
