Today the action in Gaborone was dominated by Sefalana (1365t) and FSG (285t).

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.29%, USD 4.9m

A rather dull day in Nairobi with only some action in Equity Bank and EABL lighting up the screens. Equity Bank closed unchanged at KES41.75 with locals buying and foreigners selling while EABL ticked slightly higher to KES276 on foreign activity. Safcom gained 1.3% to KES15.85 on mild action while the rest of the market was eerily quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.15%, USD 860k

A better day in terms of activity, but still nothing to write home about with some small action in MCBG (52k shares) and SBMH (10m shares).

Nigeria: ASI -0.10%, USD 26.7m

A number of unusual crosses in GTB (-10bps, N19.99) highlighted the session in Lagos while there was also some chunky crossing in Dangcem (+60bps, N158.00). The banks closed the day down 1bp although outside of GTB the sector was rather quiet. The consumers fell by 3bps although most names were rather quiet. In the cements, outside of Dangcem there was some mild action in Wapco (+2.40%, N91.25).

Zimbabwe: Industrials -1.46%, USD 931k

It was once again all about Econet as 4.5m shares changed hands in the counter while the rest of the market remains quiet. The market continues to come under some serious selling pressure.
