It was once again all about EQBNK thanks to a large cross on the open (local/ local) as a total of 13.5m shares traded in the name. There was some small action in Safcom as foreigners dominated both sides of the telco as 9m shares traded. The rest of the market was very quiet with not much on the go in the likes of KNCB (1.6m shares) and EABL (56k shares).
Some action in MCBG and NMH as 101k shares and 411k shares traded in the names respectively while the rest of the market was very quiet.
A few late crosses helped boost activity on an otherwise dull day as there was some action in GTB ($3.2m), Nestle ($2.6m), Zenith ($1.2m) and NB ($1.1m). Zenith (-5.00%) was a major drag on the banking sector as the the index fell -1.69%. Consumers (+1.81%) managed to close in positive territory thanks to good performances in NB (+5.00%) and UACN (+4.00%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
