Some small activity in Choppies (481k shares) and Letshego (538k shares) the only names worth mentioning on a rather uneventful day.
A couple of crosses yet again lit up a generally lethargic day in Nairobi. Foreigners remain heavily dominant in the market. The bulk of the action went through in Safcom (+1%, KES15.70), KNCB (+60bps, KES40.50) and EABL (unch, KES275). There was also some action in KNRE (+1.1%, KES22.25) and Equity Bank (unch, KES41.50).
An average start to the week in Port Louis with turnover amounting to $1.2m thanks to a cross in Rockcastle as 333k shares traded in the name while the rest of the market was very quiet.
Another quiet day in Lagos with almost every stock closing in the red. The only reason for the index closing higher was Dangcem which gained +6.27% to N171.15. The banks fell by -2.40% with every name closing in the red although volumes were generally dull in the sector except for GTB (-2.00%, N19.59) and Zenith Bank (-4.74%, N15.29). The consumers also fell by -1.64% with the bulk of the action going through in NB (-2.94%, N115.50) and Unilever (+43bps, N42.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another slow start to the week in Harare with some small activity in Afdis ($144k).
