Movers & Shakers: October 03, 2016

Botswana: DCI +0.01%, USD 13k

Nothing much to report from Botswana.

Kenya: NSE 20 +1.60%, USD 6.7M

It was a mostly quiet day in Nairobi although some trades in the usual big 4 names got the pulses going towards the end of the day. The banks were the strongest with EqBnk closing at KES32.50 while KNCB ended at KES29.25. Safcom and EABL both tried to jump on the bullish wave by ticking up to KES20.00 and KES279.00 respectively.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.08%, USD 3.17m

Some decent action in Port Louis to get the week going. The lion’s share of this (once again) went through in MCBG as the banking giant closed unchanged at Rs221.00.

Nigeria: Market closed for the day.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.02%, USD 147k

A quiet session in Harare. Nothing exciting to write home about.
